An oversize load is any cargo that is larger or heavier than the legal limits set for standard vehicles on public roads. In Ontario, a load is classified as oversize if it exceeds any of these limits:
Width greater than 2.6 meters (8.53 feet)
Height greater than 4.15 meters (13.6 feet)
Length longer than 13.7 meters (45 feet) for a single vehicle or 23 meters (75.5 feet) for a combination
Weight exceeding 44,000 kilograms (about 97,000 pounds)
Additionally, oversize loads are typically single, large pieces that cannot be stacked or broken down into smaller units to fit within standard trailer dimensions. If your freight can be safely stacked or arranged within legal limits, it usually does not require oversize permits.
If a load is beyond any of these dimensions or weight limits and cannot be stacked or adjusted to fit legal limits, it is considered oversize and requires special permits and safety measures for transport.
-
Yes. We have all the necessary permits required by Ontario law to transport oversize loads safely and legally.
-
While we have permits, oversize loads must still follow rules about when and where they can travel to ensure safety. Some routes or times may have restrictions.
-
Costs depend on the size, weight, distance, and any special requirements. We provide competitive pricing tailored to each load.
-
We use strong straps, chains, and other securement equipment following Ontario’s legal safety standards to keep every load stable and secure.
-
Provide accurate size and weight details plus any special instructions. We’ll handle the permits and ensure your load complies with all legal requirements.
